Edgware Police Station
Project Summary
mode provided transport planning support to UPP in relation to the redevelopment of the Former Edgware Police Station, located on Whitchurch Lane in Edgware town centre.
The proposals comprised the conversion and redevelopment of the former police station to deliver a hotel scheme comprising 45 bedrooms, alongside associated access, parking, cycle provision and servicing arrangements. The site benefits from a highly accessible town centre location, with strong public transport connectivity including proximity to Edgware Underground Station and a wide range of bus services.
mode prepared a Transport Statement to support the planning application, providing a proportionate assessment of the site’s accessibility, trip generation and highway impacts. The assessment demonstrated that the development would generate limited additional vehicular activity, with the site well placed to support sustainable travel choices in line with national, London-wide and local planning policy.
The Transport Statement also addressed car parking provision, cycle parking, refuse and servicing arrangements, swept path analysis, and personal injury collision data, confirming that the proposals would not result in unacceptable impacts on the surrounding highway network.
