Community Regeneration
The Custom House Masterplan is a regeneration project to deliver new and improved homes, along with community and commercial spaces, as well as improvements to the public realm in Canning Town, within the London Borough of Newham.
Phase 1 comprises the demolition of existing buildings and development of 95 residential units, 134sqm non-residential floorspace and associated landscaping, public realm, access and highways works. This will remain under the ownership of the London Borough of Newham and are referred to as the “Kickstart Sites” that have been identified for early delivery of 100% affordable homes for the London Borough of Newham.
mode has provided comprehensive and varied assistance on Phase 1 as part of continued support with progress of the Masterplan. This has included preparation and submission of a Construction Logistics Plan, Residential Travel Plan and Delivery and Servicing Plan, including assessment of accessibility by sustainable modes of transport in-line with TfL Healthy Streets assessment criteria.
