Hartpury University Campus
Project Summary
As part of the expansion of Hartpury University campus, mode played a key role in developing an overarching Travel Planning Strategy through a University-wide Travel Plan. This strategy considered measures to promote sustainable travel to and from the University, alongside recommending site-specific improvements to support the achievement of the Travel Plan targets. The strategy also helped inform the University’s ‘Vision 2025’ aspirations, which had the overarching aim to increase student and staff enrolment from 3,859 (as of September 2019) to 5,002 by September 2025.
This work was complemented by annual travel questionnaires with both staff and students to identify individual concerns and provide tailored travel solutions to meet their needs. The findings were also used to monitor the effectiveness of the sustainable travel initiatives and to ensure that the Travel Plan targets, particularly a modal shift towards more sustainable forms of transport, were being achieved.
mode further supported the University in realising its ‘Vision 2025’ aspirations by preparing Transport Assessments that underpinned the successful planning applications for the extension of the University Learning Hub and the development of the new Graze building.
