mode transport planning was appointed by Croudace Homes to support their now permitted Outline planning application (with all matters reserved except access), for 350 residential dwellings and safeguarded provision of a primary school on the edge of Basingstoke.
mode engaged with highways officers to discuss and agree upon how recognised transport barriers could be overcome at an early stage, then maintained proactive contact throughout the planning application and consultation process. A Transport Assessment and Outline Travel Plan were tailored to these discussions, with residual queries delicately handled to arrive at a mitigation package acceptable to all parties involved. This included a significant reduction in initially requested Section 106 transport contributions.
The development proposal remains a highly accessible Local Plan allocation and one which, with mode’s support and preparation of a comprehensive multi-modal access strategy, Croudace will now be well-placed to deliver pending Reserved Matter(s) planning approval. mode prepared the following key transport related elements in support of the planning application:
- Coordinated liaison and meetings with Hampshire County Council Officers;
- Attendance at Public Consultation;
- Preparation of a Transport Assessment;
- Preparation of an Outline Travel Plan.
Outline planning content was granted in April 2021.
