Stoford Developments Ltd (on behalf of Stannah) appointed mode transport planning to provide highways and transportation advice for the proposed development of a new plant and light assembly unit for Stannah, the global market leader in stairlifts,  on Andover Business Park just south of the A303.

With Plot 3 of Andover Business Park being undeveloped the proposals aimed to consolidate Stannah’s operations within Andover by providing a new  more efficient location for Stannah to operate.

mode transport planning has been involved with the scheme from the masterplanning stage of the proposals and have followed on to complete the following works to reach planning approval:

  • Layout and masterplanning input;
  • Preparation of Transport Assessment;
  • Preparation of Staff Travel Plan;
  • Preparation of Freight Management Plan; and 
  • Negotiations on historic Section 106 agreements regarding the HGV barred routing plan within Andover. 

The planning application was submitted in February 2020, however the negations were lengthy; nevertheless, working closely alongside Pegasus Group on a tailored Freight Management Plan and Unilateral Undertaking the highways approval and subsequent planning permission was granted in December 2020.
