A Visit to Mandala House, Kathmandu

After completing the Annapurna and Everest treks, it was a privilege to visit Mandala House in Kathmandu, home to the new Hope Centre supported by New Futures Nepal.

Seeing first hand the incredible work being done there was deeply humbling. I had the chance to catch up with Tilak and, most moving, Sabina Tamang and Mingma Sherpa who will be using the new room that mode transport planning helped deliver: a space designed to provide safety, stability, and opportunity for those who need it most. Their smiles, curiosity, and warmth brought into sharp focus what the centre truly represents: safety, dignity, and belief.

Walking through the Hope Centre, it was clear that this project isn’t just about bricks and mortar, it’s about giving children a future filled with education, care, and hope. The dedication of the team at New Futures Nepal is truly inspiring, and I’m proud that mode could play a small part in supporting such meaningful work in Nepal.

At mode, our values of integrity, growth, passion, initiative, and fun extend beyond our day-to-day projects; they guide how we engage with communities no matter where they are located.

This is more than a building. It is a statement: that communities deserve care, that individuals deserve opportunities, and that compassion must be paired with action. I’m proud that mode could play a small part in this project.

Here’s to building not just infrastructure, but futures.
